Rolling With It: My First Bus Mural Adventure
I just finished painting my very first bus—and not just a little logo or a splash of color. We’re talking a full 360-degree mural, wrapped around a big, beautiful beast of a bus for Soiree Your Way, a mobile event space that’s about to turn every party into a rolling masterpiece.
It all started over coffee with the fabulous Meredith Gress, the owner and visionary behind Soiree Your Way. We met, chatted, laughed way too loud, and by the end of our lattes, it felt like we’d known each other for years. The idea? Turn her bus into a moving work of art that matched her bold, joyful, and party-loving brand. The catch? I’d never painted a bus before. But hey—go big or go home, right?
Enter Tony Sanderford—my forever partner-in-paint and the unsung hero of this project. Tony handled the prep like a total pro: sanding, taping, measuring, and getting every inch of that bus ready for color. While we worked our magic on the outside, Meredith’s husband Ryan was inside transforming the space into a full-blown event dream on wheels. Between the painting, spraying, sanding, and a whole lot of dancing to our playlist, the bus quickly became a workshop, art studio, and friendship zone all in one.
Was it a challenge? Absolutely. Painting a giant metal rectangle with wheels is no joke. But we loved every dust-covered, paint-splattered second. The result is bold, bright, and totally one-of-a-kind—just like the people behind it. And the best part? This is just bus number one. They’re already dreaming about the next rolling canvas in the fleet. Let’s just say: they’ve got wheels and we’ve got ideas, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon.
